An Interview With Heather Leedham

How many years have you been selling travel?
20 + years

What are your hobbies?
I love to travel, but that should come as no surprise! I also love food and consider myself a bit of a foodie. I enjoy seeking out new food experiences, and learning about how other cultures come together with food. Whether it is a beer festival in England, tapas in Spain, pizza in Sorrento, roti and doubles in Trinidad or a fresh blue cheese accompanied with a baguette in France, I look forward to each new experience. I also enjoy cooking and playing around with different ingredients and building recipes from the ground up, but most of all I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I'm also a wine lover and have travelled to a number of wine countries, to taste and pair with cheese and chocolate!

What type of resort activities do you favor? ie water sports, lounging by the pool, etc?
I love the sun and anything you can enjoy under it. Relaxing on the beach, swimming, and snorkeling, playing a game of beach volleyball, taking out a kayak, or going for a long walk. I also love playing with sand, and making sandcastles!

What are your favorite destinations?
The Mediterranean, especailly Italy and Greece! England and Scotland (my roots!) Mexico and Costa Rica! I love to visit the Caribbean at least once a year for the warmth of the Caribbean Sea and fun in the sun. The Caribbean is a great choice for a restful, relaxing and rejuvenating holiday. However I like to mix it up by traveling to Europe to experience, rich culture, history and food.

What languages do you speak?
English, but discovering/learning French again and I speak Spanglish as well!

The Nick Resort in Punta Cana is an absolutely amazing family resort! The water park is one of the best I've seen for children 12 and under, with a fantastic lunch restaurant, bar and soft serve ice cream bar right along side. When you get too hot, spend some time in the Air Conditioning at Just Kiddin' Kids Club where all kinds of amazing acitivities take place all day and night, everyday! There's also a Child drop off time *babysitting* each and everyday, for parents who want a little alone time or adult time.

The beach is fabulous, but the surf and undertow were fierce and too rough at time.

The rest of the resort is perfect as well. The food and service were top notch and the resort and pools were very clean and very easy to get around, plus there were golf carts all over the resort and little rest areas to wait for a ride.

I loved the large Piazza in the centre of the resort where all of the restaurants, gift shops, coffee shop, and bars are located. A great place to come with your family and friends every evening for a nice meal and good entertainment.

We really enjoyed the laid back lunch in the light house restaurant, down by the beach on the pool. It had the best chicken and nachos with fresh guacamole and pico de gallo salsa!
